Preciously Precious. Precious Hearts Romances Readers Event at The Manila International Book Fair 2015.

It has been more than a month ago since the MIBF 2015 happened at SMX Convention center, Pasay. This was my second time to experienced the book fair. Regarding the subject, Yes... I've read some PHR books before. As far as I remember I was still in high school back then.

Free tattoo. Most of the PHR audience that day were teenagers. Well, based on my observation. Some went as a group or barkada.
Free makeover. Since most of the PHR readers or people who patronize PHR books are females, the group behind the PHR decided to treat their readers to a free makeover that day.

The crowd before the program started.

Press Release: Nickelodeon Takotown

NickelodeonTakotown Twisted Tales on October 31

Next to Christmas—and probably their birthday, Halloween is the most exciting time of the year for kids (let’s not mention the kids at heart). It’s when they get to dress up in cool costumes, go trick-or-treating (and stuff their faces with sweets before they’re even halfway home), and spook each other with silly, scary stories. It’s a fun, festive holiday that brings a lot of laughs—and candies, and nobody is more excited to get everyone into the Halloween spirit than the channel for kids, Nickelodeon.

Get ready to have a frightfully good time as Nick takes you on a ghostly adventure with its spooktacular Halloween event, Takotown:Twisted Tales. This year, Nickelodeon gives the celebration a fun Pinoy flavor by bringing in some of the most notorious Philippine mythical creatures to join the party. Rub elbows with your friendly neighborhood kapre (who says they only hang out on balete trees?), the good ol’ white lady (it gets boring in deserted streets, waiting for cars to pass by, you know), and the tiny little duwendes (they can’t wait to burst out of those mounds sitting in your backyard!).

Discover the mysteries of Takotown: Twisted Tales on October 31 at Hall 3 of the SMX Convention Center Manila, and hang out with the scary—but friendly underworld creatures from 2pm to 6pm. Nickelodeon is sure to pull out all the stops to make your adventure totally unforgettable.

Enjoy the interactive activities on ground and the exciting giveaways, from the trick-or-treat baskets filled with goodies from the event sponsors, to stage games, amazing performances, game booths, meet-and-greet with Nickelodeon characters, and the ultimate Halo-Halo-ween costume contest. So don’t forget to come in your Halloween best to bring home the coolest prizes!

If you’re up for a spooky challenge, you can also enter the“Gubat ng Lagim” and brave the misty forest with all its creepy creatures and terrifying tombstones scattered all over the place. It’s a great way test your navigation skills, and of course your courage. Let’s see if you can find your way out (cue evil laugh). Don’t worry, a photo wall is waiting for you at the other end of the forest to immortalize your horror—we mean your bravery.

Now if you’re faint hearted, then we suggest you stick to the Toy Kingdom’s“BalonngUndin.” Undin might make an appearance, but not to pull you in or eat you, but to give candies to those who are able to summon the courage to take a peek inside.

But of course, to get into Takotown, you’re going to need a ticket. So if you’re 7-10 years old, log on to to score tickets for you and your family and friends. Register online and answer the question, “What is the scariest story you’ve heard of?” 50 kids with the best answers get four tickets each! Remember that the deadline for submitting entries is on October 25 at 6pm, so hurry and tell us your scary story now!

We can’t wait too see you there for some friendly Halloween fun! It’s going to be so much fun!

Nickelodeon’s Takotown: Twisted Tales is presented by Toy Kingdom.  Co-sponsored by, Ace Water Spa, Alaska Choco, Delfi Knick Knacks, Jack N’ Jill Chooey, Lipps Pop Stix, McDonalds, Monster High, Propan TLC, Skechers Kids, Sunway Lagoon, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  In partnership with Cignal TV, GrabTaxi, iFlix, and K-Zone Magazine.

Light'em Up. Creative Lamps. Artisan Products Proudly Filipino Made

How do you spice up an area that looks so plain? Do you want to see a thing with the mix of colors that you like on it? I'm sure you are one of those people nowadays that do not just buy an item without a purpose.

Artisans are definitely everywhere. There is artisan ice cream, bags, shoes, etc., Now, what I've learned from a group is that there is an artisan lamp. What's the best in this lamp is that they can change the shape into another shape to use for their bedroom, living room, or other place wherein they can display or hang this lamp in whatever occasions. Another thing I like about this brand of lamp is that it can be reshape in 22 configurations. You can bring it to where you bought it and asks for the reshaping which is for free. But you can also get a copy of instructions and D-I-Y.

Here are other features of Light'em up Creative Lamps:

-WATER Proof, they can use it indoors and outdoors like garden and lanai. Since it is waterproof, cleaning is not a problem, you can easily knockdown the shade, and wash with soap and water, or with a rubber socket inside (like those of the lantern type) they can spray the lamp with water, no need to dismantle.

-Material used it poly-carbonate. Durable, heat resistant, color-stable, and 100% recyclable.

-Led bulbs for artisan lamps, and energy saving bulbs for the lantern type.

Home redecorating is not expensive. With the right amount of time spent on conceptualizing your idea, you can do it without spending a lot of money for sourcing materials.  If you are on a budget and wanted to give a room a different feel, you can do it with Light'em up lamp.

Price ranges from P 650-1500, well, depending on the size and design of the lamp. Colors can be customized without any charge.

MANILA, Philippines (October 6, 2015)

Innovating, disrupting and being sustainable is the way to success. While Tesla invested their resources to build electric cars and stations and becoming one of the leading sustainable car brands globally, Volkswagen invested in a diesel-emissions scandal.

To create smart, entrepreneurial innovations, which have a positive impact LBC Express partners with Impact Hub Manila to launch the start-up incubator’s very first fellowship program. The ‘Impact Hub Manila Fellowship on Innovation in Mobility with LBC’ aims to discover and cultivate the most innovative business ideas that provide sustainable development in order to promote, support, and implement adaptive solutions to issues of logistics and mobility.

“We recognize that there is a great need for a global-minded incubator, which focuses on social enterprises, to support and reinforce the growing and hugely talented sector,” explains LizAn Kuster, one of the co-founders of Impact Hub Manila.

Applications are now open for the “Impact Hub Fellowship on Innovation in Mobility with LBC.” To pioneer Impact Hub Manila’s Fellowship programs, they are looking for entrepreneurial ideas on mobility, offering participants a chance to win more than P1 Million worth of fellowship prizes and earn guidance from a community of professionals and supporting corporations. The grand prize includes a twelve month stimulating workspace at Impact Hub Manila, living stipend, and access to seed funding, focused skill development and valuable networks. “We are supporting entrepreneurs, without taking any shares, to ensure the growth of the companies,” LizAn Kuster is highlighting.

Impact Hub Manila and LBC partnered up to initiate collaboration among established corporations and emerging start-ups. The two realized that collaboration is key to the advancement of mobility innovation and its continued development in the future. Because worsening traffic conditions in Metro Manila contribute to several major problems encountered by Filipinos in their day to day lives, the Fellowship program has decided to focus on finding opportunities and creating innovative solutions to such logistical challenges. These solutions could address the following areas, not limited to the constant dilemma of commuting: energy & resources efficiency in general transport, methods to optimize traffic flow, smarter transportation management, value chain innovation, and improvements to supply and distribution channels.

“As a company that prides itself in continuously seeking ways to transform the industry and pioneer new ways to improve our service, we wanted to become part of the Impact Hub initiative that will cultivate ingenuity and help participants focus it into something tangible,” says Dino G. Araneta, Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer of LBC.
